[Update Jul 24, 2026] EO 19 codifies fleet-safety commitments: DCAS to retrofit ~4,000 non-emergency civilian trucks with pedestrian alerts by Jun 2029, and require intelligent speed assistance on newly contracted non-emergency municipal vehicles. Incremental but concrete step; Vision Zero action plan release still pending per Transportation Alternatives et al. Status remains in-progress — traffic-fatalities baseline unchanged.
