$65M for gender-affirming care

BUDGET BATTLE LOST. Campaign pledge: $65M to public providers for gender-affirming care ($57M to public hospitals / community clinics / FQHCs / nonprofits, $8M for telehealth and trans-health access). FY27 Executive Budget (May 12) did NOT include the $65M allocation. Truthout (May 12+): "Mamdani Unveils LGBTQ Office as $65 Million Pledge Remains Uncertain." Erin in the Morning: "It's Time For Mayor Mamdani To Live Up To His Campaign Promises On Transgender Youth." The Nation: "New York City Hospitals Fold to Trump — Will Mamdani Defend Trans Care?" Mayor's office did not respond to multiple Prism Reports inquiries about where $65M lives in the budget. Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs created (Taylor Brown), but the $65M operational line is absent. Promise BROKEN for FY27.
