Ken Griffin to Meet Hochul Thursday on NYC 'Direction' as Citadel/Mamdani Feud Escalates

Citadel founder and CEO Ken Griffin announced Tuesday he will meet with Governor Hochul on Thursday April 30 to discuss "the future direction" of New York City. The sit-down comes after Mamdani spotlighted Griffin's $238M Manhattan penthouse in an April 15 video promoting the pied-à-terre tax — prompting Citadel COO Gerald Beeson to call the comments "shameful" and threaten to abandon a $6B+ NYC expansion. Griffin separately blasted Mamdani's "personal attack" and "profound lack of judgment" in a Fox Business interview. The Hochul–Griffin meeting widens the Mamdani–Albany rift in the same week Hochul shot down the mayor's PTET-credit ask.
