Hochul Meets Citadel CEO Ken Griffin Today to Discuss NYC 'Future Direction'

Gov. Hochul met with Citadel founder Ken Griffin on Thu Apr 30 to discuss "the future direction" of NYC, the highest-profile sit-down to come out of the Apr 23 Mamdani-Griffin pied-à-terre-tax flap. Griffin used a Tue Apr 28 Norges Bank conference appearance in Oslo to call Mamdani's Apr 15 video targeting his $238M penthouse "a profound lack of judgment" and "personal attack." Citadel COO Gerald Beeson has reportedly raised the possibility of abandoning a $6B+ NYC expansion centered on a 62-story Park Avenue development. The meeting comes 48 hours after Hochul flatly rejected Mamdani's PTET-credit ask ("It's not happening") and is being read inside Albany as Hochul publicly distancing herself from City Hall on tax policy.
