In an "uncommon" move, Manhattan Supreme Court Justice Sabrina Kraus rescheduled the May 7 oral-argument hearing on VOICE v. City of New York to May 28, saying she wants additional records from City Hall before ruling on whether Mayor Mamdani's EO converting 8 East 3rd Street into a citywide men's intake center exceeded his authority. The temporary restraining order remains in effect, the city can keep building but cannot open the facility. The Mamdani-voters-sue-Mamdani lawsuit now stretches into Day 36+ of delay against a flagship homelessness initiative.
