Mamdani cut the ribbon Wed Jun 10 on 36 newly renovated affordable co-op units at ANCP Morningside while formally unveiling "Our Home" — a new program inside the Block by Block plan to convert rental buildings to resident-controlled co-ops. HPD will support roughly 300 new affordable co-op units across FY27-28. The launch comes 8 days after the $22B / 200K-new + 200K-preserved Block by Block plan rollout on May 26 and adds a homeownership lane to a plan that had previously read rental-heavy.
