New York lawmakers passed a 9th budget extender Monday running through Wednesday May 6, with a 10th expected today. Budget is now 35+ days late (originally due April 1). Hochul told reporters Friday a framework deal could come "this week"; total FY26 budget estimated at $254B. Sticking points: car insurance reform, climate-law dial-back, taxes on the wealthy, school aid, Tier 6 pension reform, and the 25-foot place-of-worship buffer.
