Randy Mastro sued Aug 7, 2026 on behalf of three homeowners over Mamdani's pied-à-terre tax, alleging the 900K+ home public list "doxxed" owners and that Bronx homes were wrongly captured. Justice Wayne Ozzi (Richmond County) ruled Sept 29, 2026 that the mailed tax notices were "arbitrary and capricious, affected by errors of law, and in violation of recipients' due process rights" — ordered the city to remove the current property list from its website, redo the notification process under proper procedure, and mail corrected notices. 2026-09-29/30 update: Richmond County Justice Wayne Ozzi granted an injunction ordering the city to scrap the current pied-à-terre tax mailed-notice rollout. Court found the notices "arbitrary and capricious," ordered the city to remove the $1M+ property list from the DOF site, follow proper APA procedure, and remail corrected notices.
